What is APEDA License?

Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is a government organization established in 1985 through an act for the development and promotion of export of scheduled products. It provides financial assistance, information, guidelines towards the development of scheduled products. The products specified under the APEDA ACT are called schedule products and exporters of such scheduled products are required to register under APEDA.

The objective of APEDA is to promote scheduled product export and to achieve these various functions that have been undertaken by this body under the regulation of the central government. Central government lays down the rules and regulation and implements through this body for the efficient administration of the APEDA Act.

Every person who is an exporter of Scheduled Products shall obtain APEDA registration. A person can be registered either as a merchant exporter or as a manufacturing exporter.

Why this License is Required?

With respect to the export of scheduled products, APEDA registration is mandatory. Exporters can avail the various financial assistance schemes of APEDA. Registered members can participate in training programs organized by APEDA for various scheduled products and thereby improve their business.

  • List Directors/Partners in below format on letter Head.
  • Name of Director, Address, PAN / Aadhar No., Email ID, Contact No.
  • Government Photo Id Proof of Director's/Partners/ Proprietor.
  • List of Food Category on Letter Head.
  • Proof Of premises: Sale Deed/ Rent Agreement with NOC, Electricity bill.
  • MOA , AOA, Certificate of Incorporation if Pvt. Ltd. Company / Partnership deed if Partnership / Certification of incorporation and LLP Deed if LLP Company.
  • GST Certificate
  • Import Export Code (IEC).
  • Bank Certificate duly signed by the authorities.
  • Product wise requirements.
